Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find a list of complete and very practical answers. Don’t forget, our experts are best placed to answer your questions.

What areas do you cover?

What areas do you cover?
We teach from our offices in Luton and Leyton, London E11, and cover most of East London and surrounding areas. Message us your postcode and we’ll confirm we can pick you up.

Do you teach automatic and manual?

Yes, we offer both. If you pass your test in an automatic car, your licence only lets you drive automatics. A manual licence lets you drive both manual and automatic cars.

Where will you pick me up from?

We can usually meet you at home, work, college, a local train station or your test centre, whichever is easiest for you.

Do I need a provisional licence before my first lesson?

Yes. You can apply for a provisional licence on GOV.UK from the age of 15 years and 9 months, and you can start driving a car from your 17th birthday.

How many lessons will I need?

Everyone learns at a different pace. As a guide, the DVSA says learners take on average around 45 hours of lessons with an instructor, plus about 22 hours of private practice. After your first lesson we’ll give you a more realistic idea.

I'm a nervous driver. Can you help?

Absolutely. We take things at your pace, on quiet roads to begin with, and build your confidence step by step.

Do I need my own car?

No. You learn in our dual-controlled car, and you can use it for your driving test too.

Do I have to pass my theory test first?

You must pass your theory test before you can book your practical driving test. You can start lessons before taking your theory test, and we’ll point you to good practice resources.

What happens on the practical driving test?

The test lasts about 40 minutes. It includes an eyesight check, a “show me, tell me” safety question, general driving, independent driving and a manoeuvre. You pass with no serious or dangerous faults and no more than 15 minor faults.
